The Idumubo Development Association (IDA) has concluded all arrangements to hold its annual conference at Ubulu-Uku on Easter day, 9th April, 2023.

The event is scheduled to take place at the church auditorium of St Charles Catholic Church by 11am.

Speaking on their preparedness towards the event, President of the Association, Mr Paul Odiakaose said that the conference which is the maiden edition will also include a project launch for the community.

Odiakaose who explained that the group is made up of sons and daughters, cutting across Idumu Uwadia/Idumu Ojie Nwaobi, Idumu Ofu, Idumu Ukpor, and, Idumu Ogboli, said that the formation of the association became necessary following an urgent need to fill in some gaps in the community.

According to him, IDA is on its way to re-establishing robust community bond by including a greater number of potential members who will have a positive influence in Idumubo community and Ubulu-Uku as a whole.

He therefore, encouraged more people to join the Association in order to have a stronger voice and impact the ways their community is planned, administered and developed.

Speaking further on why the association was formed, Odiakaose added that “The association was formed last year to foster unity and progress amongst the family units that constitute Idumubo. It is also geared towards promotion of our cultural heritage and our common history. Above all, it is also formed to drive meaningful development through projects, education and
entrepreneurship amongst others.

Other reasons that informed IDU establishment, according to the President is to better enhance and support members through cooperation and through all
forms of constitutional benefits accruable to membership; leave to posterity an everlasting legacy from generation to generation through
our succession plan, etc.

According to the President, newly elected members of the association elected few months ago wll equally be inaugurated at the event.

“We have put in motion to ensure that the event is successful. We also expect guests, ranging from the Palace, community leaders, chiefs, clergy, students and all sons and daughters of Idumubo. We therefore, urge all to grace this important occasion”, the President stated.
