EZEMU GIRLS PRINCIPAL, OTHERS LAUD DR DORIS OCHEI
The principal of Ezemu Girls Grammar School, Ubulu-Uku, Mrs Felicia Onyekachukwu Ebube has described Dr Doris Ochei as a selfless, kind and supportive individual.
Mrs Ebube who emphasised that, it is rare to see such people, made the remark on Tuesday on the occasion of the presentation and Commissioning of the Dr Doris Amaka Ochei Multi-purpose Hall built by the Foundation.
According to the principal, Dr Doris Ochei Foundation was able to transform an almost dilapidated building into a beautiful edifice.
She said “words cannot express the joy in my heart as I stand before you all this day to welcome you to this great occasion of the presentation and Commissioning of this magnificent multipurpose hall. On behalf of the management, staff, students and Parents/Teachers Association (PTA) of this great school. I sincerely appreciate the benevolence and magnanimity of Dr (Mrs) Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation which sponsored the transformation of an almost dilapidated building into this beautiful edifice which we are all seeing today”.
She called on other well – meaning indigenes of Ubulu Uku old students of Ezemu Girls and other good Nigerians to emulate Dr Doris Ochei and contribute their quota to the growth of education in Nigeria.
Like Oliver Twist, Mrs Ebube appealed for a school bus for easy movement of students for outings. She also informed that the building housing the school library, computer laboratory, and basic Technology laboratory is in shambles.
She appreciated those who contributed to the building project in one way or the other to make the project a success.
In her speech, Dr Doris Ochei stated that, without God the project wouldn’t have been possible.
The philanthropist appealed to those who are going to use the building to ensure that it is well maintained so that it serves the very purpose which it was built for.
Advising the current students of Ezemu Girls Grammar School, Dr Doris said “I want all of you to be well focused. It is only when you are focused that you would be able to do this. As at now, you should be doing nothing other than reading your books. Again, you should listen to your parents so that you will be great”.
“On behalf of Dr Doris Amaka Ochei Foundation, we sincerely appreciate all our guests, teachers, students, friends and well wishers for honoring us today. May God bless you indeed, amen”, she added.
Also eulogising Dr Doris Ochei was the President of Ezemu Girls Grammar School Old Students Association (EGGSOSA), Mrs Rosemary Ofunne.
Mrs Ofunne said she and her association are happy for the achievements of one of their own, adding that they are proud of the donor.
Others at the ceremony who spoke well of Dr Doris include: representatives of the Obi of Ubulu Uku, HRH Obi Chukwuka Noah Akaeze, Chairman of the occasion, Uche Chiemeka, Special Guest of Honour, Major General Raymond Ochei.
Others are Palace chiefs, government functionaries, PTA members, teachers, students and community leaders.
