Major General Raymond Ochei has once again thanked Ubulu Uku people, saying he will forever remain grateful to them because they gave him the best wife. 

According to Major General Ochei, good wife is one of the blessings that   any. man aspires to have, stating that God in his infinite mercy has given him the best wife in everything one can think of.

The senior Army officer made the statement on Sunday at the 3rd edition of Ubulu Ezemu Award held at Viva Hotel Ubulu-Uku. 

Commending Ubulu Ezemu for putting the event together, the Army General advised Ubulu-Uku people to ensure that they reposition the town in the map of Nigeria. 

“I want to thank all of you for this gathering. What you are doing is on the right path. I want to plead with all of you here to make sure that Ubulu-Uku is repositioned in the map of Nigeria.”

He said that as a child, Ubulu Uku used to be a shinning example, advising that if community is without peace, such community cannot achieve anything.

“You need to come together. That is just my appeal to all”.

He thanked Ubulu Ezemu for honouring his wife as “Philanthropist of The Year 2022″ and Community Development Icon of The Year 2022”.

Also speaking at the event, was former Acting Military Governor of the old Bendel State, Group Captain Samuel Akaraiwe (retired) who commended the Convener of Ubulu Ezemu Award, Mr Anthony Awunor.

Group Captain Akaraiwe (rtrd) who was also a Commander in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Maritime section in Benin City represented his younger brother, Late Mr Iwegbunam Edward Akaraiwe for the latter’s posthumous award as “Hero of The Year 2022” said he had been into series of associations with Ubulu-Uku people before now. 

He expressed joy over the award bestowed on the former principal of St Anthony’s College, Ubulu-Uku. 

“I am very pleased to be here. I used to visit Ubulu Uku when my elder brother, Iwegbunam Edward Akaraiwe was the principal of St Anthony’s College”, he said. 

Also, management expert, Mr Ifechukwude Ezinwa who won “Ubulu-Uku Ambassador of The Year 2022” commended the convener of the event. 

He applauded Major General Ochei and Group Captain Samuel Akaraiwe (rtrd) for honouring Ubulu Uku people through their presence to the event. 

Ezinwa, who described Ochei as Ubulu Uku man by association said “by extension now, from what you have told us, you have also become an Ubulu Uku indigene by extension”.
