For the umpteenth time, Ubulu-Uku born philanthropist and society lady, Mrs Uche Mekwunye today donated items worth over N20 million to her people in both Aniocha South and Aniocha North L.G.A of Delta State.

Mrs Mekwunye made the donation in her palatial home at Abuedo Quarters, an uphill part of Ubulu-Uku on Tuesday.

Items donated physically in the presence of over 300 audience include: a brand new Lexus car, 20 motorcycles, several units of KeKe tricycles, 50 pieces of original wrappers, over 100 cartons of tin tomatoes , including over N2 million in cash.

While speaking at the occasion, the philanthropist who made the donation through her pet project known as Fruitful/ Ada-Jesus (FAJ) Foundation said the donations were made through the support of her loving husband, the Ekwueme 1 of Ubulu-Uku, Chief Fruitful Mekwunye.

According to her, the kind gesture shown, wouldn’t have been possible if not for the unalloyed support of her hubby.

She therefore, advised all the beneficiaries to take and enjoy whatever they might have received, adding that those FAJ Foundation members who did not get items this time, will get theirs next time.

She said “these gifts my husband and I are giving you people is straight from our hearts. He is not here but he sends his greetings to you all. If you are in FAJ Foundation and you did not have any thing today, please be patient because I still have plans for you all. In fact, God has plans for you”.

“What am doing is not just showcasing. I am really doing what God has directed me to do”, she emphasised.

To the admiration of the crowd, Ada Jesus handed the key of the brand new Lexus car to the beneficiary, Mr Daniel from Aniocha North L.G.A of Delta State.

In addition, another beneficiary from Ubulu-Uku, whom Ada Jesus described as the most loyal member of the FAJ Foundation got the sum of N1 million and an award for his loyalty.

She also donated N500, 000 to a lady who is said to be suffering from fibroid, to enable her get better medical treatment

High point of the event marked a lucky deep exercise whereby members of the foundation participated. In the process many people won motorcycles including a lady who came all the way from Ezi.

At the end, most of the widows who attended the event smiled home with N20, 000 each, a carton of tomatoes and a quarter bag of rice. Others won several units of motorcycles, Keke tricycles and other items.

The beneficiaries who were full of praises for the donor prayed for their benefactor.

One of them said “God will bless and the only thing that will scarce you is death. God will surely bless you with good health and all your heart desires. You and your husband will marry till old age”.

The annual support to widows by FAJ Foundation has been on for the past 11 years.

Few years ago, Ada Jesus built a four bedroom flat for her Personal Assistant, Mr Ezekiel Onwuelu at her village in Udo quarters,a suburb of Ubulu-Uku.

Similarly, she has extended such kind gesture to one of her followers, one Mrs Chinye Odiba at Isho.

Also she has single-handedly empowered a quite number of women, running into half a hundred with N300, 000 each in the past.

Through, her intervention, a blind woman was assisted from the funds she raised. Today the lady has regained her sight.

That is not all. This woman of substance equally donated a very substantial amount of money in September, 2018, when the then Ubulu-Uku Youth Development Council (UYDC ) called her upon to chair their launch of a N50 million building project for a Divisional Police Station in the town.
