KIDS & KRAYONS INT’L SCHOOL TRAINS PUPILS, PARENTS ON TRAVEL AND TOURISM
Management of Kids and Krayons International School Ota in Ogun State, on Friday, set out quality time out of classroom activities, to enlighten their pupils and their parents on the intricacies of processing travel documents for international travels for both tourism and schooling.
As part of the events that marked the International Excursion Day, the occasion was well attended by pupils, parents and some community leaders who were trained on travels and tourism.
In his address, School Administrator, Dr Israel Oseafiana stated that the theme of this year’s event: “How To Process International Travel Papers For Tourism and Schooling” was carefully chosen in order to enlighten those who have difficulties in processing international travel papers.
Dr Oseafiana regretted that many people have been duped of their hard earned money, in the past as a result of ignorance of what to do and what not to do.
Oseafiana stated that, part of their mission is to boost the general knowledge and international awareness of their pupils, parents and the entire school community so as to find things easy whenever they want to travel overseas.
He emphasised that, such training is capable of equipping each person with information that can enhance their comfort and confidence to indulge in international travels for either tourism or schooling.
“What you are going to learn here today will give you comfort and confidence to indulge or better still, travel and live in any part of the world without feeling lost or psychologically, socially, educationally and culturally disabled or disadvantaged”.
“We also teach them how they can travel abroad and be able to find their way around any country they travel to. This to our mind is “broad-based education” which you may not find in most schools around. Unfortunately, in our society, we find many people who are educated, they are perhaps graduates, yet they are not learned. To the glory of God, here in Kids & Krayons, we work, very well to give our pupils and even staff the hi-tech knowledge to make them 21st Century compliant”, Dr Oseafiana added.
In her remarks, Director/Head Teacher of Kids and Krayons International School, Mrs Ngozi Oseafiana commended the parents for making it a point of duty to come and celebrate with their children.
Mrs Oseafiana advised the parents to ensure that they show love and encourage their children at all times.
She pledged that the school will continue to put in their best as ever, to see that the children become useful for themselves and the society at large.
High point of the event marked expert presentations on the theme: “How To Process International Travel Papers For Tourism and Schooling” made by guest speakers who took the pupils through travel and tourism.
The highly elated pupils from playgroup, kindergarten, Primary 1 to Primary 5 equally made their presentations representing different countries cutting across the globe. Some of the countries that the pupils brought to the fore with description of their food, greeting, currency, leadership, culture, history, landmarks include: Greece, Belarus, Malawi, Dominican Republic, Togo, Colombia, and Vietnam. There were also dance competitions organised for the parents, teachers on one hand and children dance competition on the other hand.
The event is the 8th edition of International Excursion Day which is celebrated annually by Kids and Krayons International School. Last year’s celebration with the theme: Avoiding Deformation by Global Awareness and Information” was also well attended by both pupils and their parents.
