… Launches N200m Building Project

Attention of the global community was brought to the traditional head of Odiani clan in Aniocha North L.G.A. of Delta State, Ukwu-Nzu, when their King, HRM Agbogidi Obi Christopher Okafor Ogoh (JP) celebrated 48 years in the ancient throne.

The 48th anniversary ceremony also coincided with the launch of N200 million building project launched for the well respected King.

The colourful anniversary ceremony tagged “Eko-Efun 2022” was declared open on Friday, 29 April, 2022 with Symposium at Anglican Hall, Ukwu- Nzu. This was followed by Traditional ‘Get-together’ the following day being Saturday, 30th April, 2022 which was seen as the main Anniversary event.

As expected dignatories from all walks of life were present including Ukwu-Nzu sons and daughters from home and abroad, government functionaries, politicians, community leaders, youths, indigenes and even non-indigenes of Ukwu-Nzu.

During the event, dance groups of different shapes and fashions performed elegantly, displaying the rich cultural heritage of Ukwu-Nzu people. There were also enough food and drinks for all participants who came to honour the Delta monarch.

Ukwu-Nzu chiefs of different rankings equally filed out to the occasion to perform their different roles in honour of their King.

As part of the activities heralding the anniversary celebration, there was also a football match competition between youths of different quarters in the town.

The event was however, wrapped up with a well attended Thanksgiving Service at St Bethel Anglican Church, Ukwu-Nzu, officiated by the The Bishop of Asaba Diocese, The Rt Revd Kingsley C Obuh.

Speaking on the outcome of the event, Chairman Planning Committee, Dr Israel Oseafiana stated that the event was an all round success.

According to Dr Oseafiana the attendance, both physical and virtual were very encouraging and the support received from indigenous was also okay.

Although, Oseafiana hinted that the N200 million target of the committee was not met, he emphasised that Ukwu-Nzu people and the committee are very grateful for any singular support given for the success of the project.

He promised that, as already started, any penny realised from the project will be prudently utilised for the benefit of the entire community and in honour of their king.

Dr Oseafiana said “With the deepest sense of responsibility, I say ‘Thank you’ on behalf of HRM Obi Ogoh of Ukwu-Nzu to all Eko sons and daughters that made “Eko-Efun 2022″ main event to succeed today, being April 30. Your graceful presence made the event colourful and your donations gladdened our hearts. May the God of heaven bless you all and prosper the works of your hands in Jesus name”.

A cross section of Ukwu-Nzu people who spoke on the event congratulated the King for a good outing. They also gave kudos to the Dr Oseafiana led planning committee for a good job well done.

Also speaking on the event, Ven. Chukwudi Ekwemuka who was highly elated with the success of the event said  “Indeed,  God has used Dr Oseafiana and his committee to advance the course of Eko – Efun, towards all round blessings. For acknowledging the “Father of the land.” You have truly done well. posterity will not forget you in a hurry, your labour of love must surely be rewarded. Thank you immensely for making us proud
